What life experience has strengthened you the most?

• Learning how to value myself while in an unhappy marriage and finding the courage to extricate myself from it.
• I think you 'get strengthened' - or you don't - when you are very young. Then you have access to that strength when you go through difficult times. And watching my newborn daughter fight for her life, I realized that some are born strong. So if I might, I'd rephrase your question to read 'what life experience most tested your strengths' and to that I'd answer watching my newborn daughter fight for her life.
