Day 24: January 24, 2009

Question 7:
Would you rather be a great musician, artist, or athlete? Why?

Responses:
  • Athlete. I like the sweat and the burn. The immediate results. Knowing I am the best because, there is a time or a score to beat. There is less of a middle with athletics than with artistry. There is something tangible and definable. The results that an athlete chases are made from his/her own dreams. The athlete: strong, determined, team player or individual performer, excellent discipline, beautiful body being used to its full potential. And you can retire and live off your endorsements! (Just a perk)!
  • I love all three however, I chose a great musician, because music is in my spirit. When I sing or play an instrument, it feels as if it flows through my body like blood cells or an electrical current and comes out of my pores. It allows me to express myself from the deepest places of my soul and speak of and to things, a type of communication in which words would never be adequate. Music is an intricate part of all life. It has the ability to alter situations and people. It can soothe, excite or irritate and instigate. It can affect one’s mood or steer one to a certain place, past present or future. It can create an expectancy, fear, love, joy, compassion, anger, healing, etc and it would be a blessing to me to be talented enough to cause those sensations in others.
  • Artist, because it would enable me to express my observations and insights of people, relationships and life.
  • Artist

Song:
No Air, by Jordin Sparks (feat. Chris Brown)

Lyrics:
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air

(Jordin)
If I should die before I wake
It's 'cause you took my breath away
Losing you is like living in a world with no air
Oh

(Chris)
I'm here alone, didn't wanna leave
My heart won't move, it's incomplete
Wish there was a way that I can make you understand

(Jordin)
But how do you expect me
To live alone with just me
'Cause my world revolves around you
It's so hard for me to breathe

[Chorus]
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
That's how I feel whenever you ain't there
There's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gon' be without me
If you ain't here, I just can't breathe
There's no air, no air

No air, air
No air, air
No air, air
No air, air

(Chris)
I walked, I ran, I jumped, I flew
Right off the ground to float to you
There's no gravity to hold me down for real

(Jordin)
But somehow I'm still alive inside
You took my breath, but I survived
I don't know how, but I don't even care

(Both)
So how do you expect me
To live alone with just me
'Cause my world revolves around you
It's so hard for me to breathe

[Chorus]
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
That's how I feel whenever you ain't there
There's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gon' be without me
If you ain't here, I just can't breathe
There's no air, no air

No air, air
No air, air
No air, air
No air, air
No more
There's no air, no air

Ooohhhhh...

[Chorus]
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
That's how I feel whenever you ain't there
There's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gon' be without me
If you ain't here, I just can't breathe
There's no air, no air

[Chorus]
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
That's how I feel whenever you ain't there
There's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gon' be without me
If you ain't here, I just can't breathe
There's no air, no air

No air, air
No air, air
No air, air

No air
