Day 1: Jan 1, 2009 - The Beginning!

Question 139:
You've bet five thousand dollars on a game of rock, paper, scissors. What do you throw? Explain your rationale.

Responses:
  • On one game (as opposed to a series) I throw rock because almost nobody throws paper first. If it were a best-of-three series for $5,000, I would throw rock, rock, paper. I would follow up the two rocks with paper because I know my opponent would see the two rocks, think I'm throwing a third rock and likely throw either rock to tie or paper to win. If they throw rock, I win and if they throw paper, it's a wash. I can't lose!
  • Paper. Everyone throws rock.

Song:
1 2 3 4, by Feist

Lyrics:

One, two, three, four,
Tell me that you love me more
Sleepless, long nights
That is what my youth was for
Oh, teenage hopes
Arrive at your door
Left you with nothing,
But they want some more
Oh, oh, oh,
You're changing your heart
Oh, oh, oh,
You know who you are
Sweetheart, bitter heart,
Now I can't tell you apart
Cozy and cold,
Put the horse before the cart
Those teenage hopes,
Who have tears in their eyes
Too scared to own up,
To one little lie
Oh, oh, oh,
You're changing your heart
Oh, oh, oh,
You know who you are
One, two, three, four, five, six, nine, and ten
Money can't buy you back the love that you had then
One, two, three, four, five, six, nine, and ten
Money can't buy you back the love that you had then
Oh, oh, oh,
You're changing your heart
Oh, oh, oh,
You know who you are
Oh, oh, oh,
You're changing your heart
Oh, oh, oh,
You know who you are
Who you are
For the teenage boys
They're breaking your heart
For the Teenage boys
They're breaking your heart
