Should the individual or society be of primary importance?

- Ideally if the individual is raised not egocentrically but in a loving home with good education and morals then society will see the fruits of the labors of putting the individual first. From children to each other to our parents and friends, treating the individual with respect should lead to a respectful society.
- We should focus on the society so the individual can happily live in it. In places where the individual is more important than society, there is often corruption and a non-functioning society. Basic needs such as shelter, food, and clothing are scarce. Societies should however never be allowed to involve themselves in religion, forcing people to go to war, deciding whether women can abort an unborn baby and deciding who can marry. These are individual rights that must be respected by society.
