Day 64: March 5, 2009

Question 80:
What's the most beautiful place you've ever seen?

Responses:
  • I think the most beautiful place I've ever seen is the looking out onto Waikiki Beach from Diamond Head on Oahu. I'm from Hawaii and when I see the whole Waikiki area and everything below it conjures up so many memories as well as different thoughts. I mean I see the million dollar houses and wonder what people are doing and I look out to the ocean and feel and think peace and tranquility. Then I see Waikiki and I think of the crowds and tourist and how much that industry affects the livelihood of so many people in Hawaii. It just makes me think of how much industry plays in Hawaii's existence. But it's beautiful because you can see the ocean, the greenery and it makes me smile and think of how great of a place Hawaii is and how I'm so lucky that I grew up there.
  • Wow...again...subjective....place as in geographical location: Schiermonnikoog, Netherlands. My most personal, most beautiful place I’ve ever seen is [don’t laugh] my partner. His face when I am under him.
  • The Atlantic Ocean on the cruise--so peaceful, calm, isolated

Song:
Riversong, by Caliko

Lyrics:
I’m sitting here waiting
We’ve got a long way to go
And I don’t mind if you don’t mind
Just let me know
Follow me upstream where the river starts to show
And then wind me down the long way round and take it slow
Let it flow, let it flow
We’re slipping downstream
Whatever way the cold wind blows
Pulled in one direction by the undertow
Flying so high
With the ocean down below
Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on
Let me know
Let it flow, let it flow
From the mountains to the sea
It’s all there in between
Follow rivers follow streams
Where you’ve never ever been
It’s all so easy
We just sit here waiting patiently to leave
